Proclaiming the Law and the Gospel of Jesus Christ : Wherefore the Law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. ~ Galatians 3:24
* NEWSFLASH* A fire broke out in the 'Old Court' at about 12H30 (local South African time) today (12th instant)in Church Street near the City Hall. This building was under repair - being renovated. The cause of the fire is unknown and any foul-play / arson needs to be ascertained.
The photograph was taken from the Natalia Building.
My wife alerted me to this fire and I asked if her friend Mandy could take a photograph and send it to me. This is the product.
This building is also in the area where we normally hand out gospel tracts and open-air preach. At this time we do not know if there are any casualties or injured persons. Please pray for God's Grace in this situation. We also pray that our Lord Jesus will use this event to be Glorified through the proclamation of His Law and His Gospel of Grace.
I also pray that persons who were faced with a near death experience will consider why they have been given 'another chance' to repent before God and to believe the Gospel. It is because God is Merciful and Good and Kind.
Here is the proposed schedule of the evangelism outreach for the Confederations Cup that starts in nine days time, Lord willing. We will be at the event from June 16 to 25 and we request that you will kindly keep us in prayer during the duration of our stay and also the time that we are travelling to and from the event. We are praying for God to be exalted and worshipped and many, many souls to be caused by Him to repent and believe the gospel.
People need Jesus and there is no other way to salvation and eternal life. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). The Word also says: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him (John 3:36).
We also thank Michael Rogers of Living Waters Africa for opening his home to Bill Adams, Thomas, Willem and myself for the duration of our stay. Also thanks to our sister Elizabeth Eager (Ambassadors Academy #1) for her help. May God Bless your faithfullness in being available for His Glory.
All other biblical evangelists please do get in touch with us. My contact number during the outreach is 072 221 1233.
You that preach Christ in the streets, go on preaching Him. I saw a man preaching the other day with no creature but one dog to listen to him, and I really thought that he might as well have gone home. But I met with a story yesterday, which I know to be true, and it showed me that I was making a mistake. There was a woman who for years had been in such dreadful despair that she would not even hear the gospel. She came to be very ill, and she said to one that called upon her, "You sent a man to preach under my window three months ago, and I got a blessing." "No," the friend said, "I never sent anybody to preach under your window." "Oh," she said, "I think you did, for he came and preached, and my maid said that there was nobody listening to him. I did not want to hear him; and as he made so much noise, my maid shut the window, and I lay down in bed; but the man shouted so that I was obliged to hear him; and I thank God I did, for I heard the gospel, and I found Christ. Did you not send him?" "No," said the good man, "I did not." "Well," she said, "then God did. There was nobody in the street listening to him; but I heard the gospel, and I got out of my despair, and I found the Savior, and I am prepared to die." Fire away brethren! You do not know where your shot will strike, but "there's a billet for every bullet." ~ Charles H. Spurgeon
Recently our Lord Jesus has been leading me to read some solid spiritual food. I have finished reading "The Gospel According to Jesus" by John F. MacArthur and will be finished shortly with the book by Mark Cahill titled "One Thing You Can't Do in Heaven". These are two of the most amazing books that will have you reading and wanting more and more. Outside of the Bible, they are two best sellers that every Christian should make a point of reading. You won't want to put either down for too long.
From the Introduction (page 11), I quote:
"Three-hundred-million years from now, what will be the only thing that will matter? Will it matter how much money you made? Will it matter what kind of car you drove? Will it matter who won the NCAA football and basketball titles this year? Will it matter who you took to the homecoming dance?
"Three-hundred-million years from now, the only thing that will matter is who is in heaven and who is in hell. And if that is the only thing that will matter then, that should be one of our greatest concerns now. Jesus tells us in Matthew 18:11, "The Son of Man has come to save that which was lost." If it is of the utmost importance for Jesus to reach the lost, shouldn't it be a major priority for you? The real question then is: What are you doing of significance today that will matter three-hundred-million-plus years from now?
"Second Corinthians 5:10 assures us that "we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad." Do you really believe, as a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, that there will be a day on which you will stand before His throne? We will each go one-to-one with the God of this universe. Can you imagine that? Do you think it will matter on that day whether you boldly shared your faith with unbelievers, whether you told a very lost and dying world about Jesus - the only answer for a soul? Yes, it will. It will matter whether you shared the most precious thing you have with everyone you could." ~ Mark Cahill
You will need to purchase a copy to find out the Winning Winning Winning of Evangelism. Here are some clips to further inspire you to reach the lost for Christ ...
This Law, then, should be arrayed in all its majesty against selfishness and enmity of the sinner. All men know that they have sinned, but all are not convicted of the guilt and ill dessert of sin. But without this they cannot understand or appreciate the Gospel method of salvation. Away with this milk-and-water preaching of a love of Christ that has no holiness or moral discrimination in it. Away with preaching a love of God that is not angry with sinners every day. ~ Charles Finney
The foolish shall not stand in your sight: you hate all workers of iniquity. ~ Psalm 5:5
Does God hate sinners? How can God hate sinners when John 3:16 says that He loves them? Norman Geisler and Thomas Howe write, "There is no contradiction in these statements. The difficulty arises when we wrongly assume that God hates in the same way men hate. Hatred in human beings is generally thought of in terms of strong emotional distaste or dislike of someone or something. However, in God, hate is a judicial act on the part of the righteous judge who separates the sinner from Himself" (When Critics Ask). (The Evidence Bible by Ray Comfort, page 709)
Suppose that we do not preach the gospel and warn the wicked man, so that he turns not from his iniquity. What then? Hear this voice: "He shall perish, but his blood will I require at thine hand." What will my Lord say to me if I am unfaithful to you? "Where is the blood of those people who gathered at Newington Butts? Where is the blood of that crowd that came together to hear you speak, and you did not preach the gospel to them?" Oh, it were better for me that I had never been born than that I should not preach the gospel! "Woe is unto me if I preach not the gospel" of Christ, for men perish where there is not the Word of God! ~ Charles H. Spurgeon
If there is but One Truth, then there cannot be many ways to be saved.
Quoted here is an extract from Cameron Buettel's blog The Bottom Line:
Some of my American friends often ask me, as someone who lives in Denmark, whether western Europe is a viable mission field or "has the train already left the station". The jury is still out on that question, but my mind is made up whatever the outcome. God is going to accomplish His Sovereign purposes regardless so I will preach and be an instrument of revival - or judgment! I won't go down quietly and I will go down swinging! Pray for us, be vigilant, and preach the word the only two times you ever should - in season and out of season! (Read the full post Here)
Hi-lighted is the portion of the quote that really made me think. God will be glorified no matter what the circumstances and born again Christians are the vessels through which God will accomplish His revival or His judgment. Will we sit comfortably while sinners and those misguided by their cultic religions that they follow fall into the Hands of an Angry God? Or will we obediently let God use us as vessels of His salvation to reach those He is calling to repentance? We are bought at a price therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's (1 Corinthians 6:20). We are owned by another and He is Almighty God.
Here are blogs posted that reveals the obsession behind Islam -
The mission of this blog is to encourage Christians to be obedient to The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8) given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ and to Glorify our God by proclaiming the Law and the Gospel of Grace to the unsaved.
This blog is to give all praise and glory to the One and only True and Living God Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
I hope to be faithful "rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15b) in recording sound biblical doctrine and theology and that the posts are not to solicit personal praise, but to give rightful honour and glorious praise to all the victories belonging to our Lord and Saviour - King Jesus.
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but to us which are saved it is the power of God. ~ 1 Corinthians 1:18
For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumblingblock, and to the Greeks foolishness; But to them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. ~ 1 Corinthians 1:22-24
And he said to them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. ~ Matthew 4:19
Let Down Your Nets There is no exclusion put upon any tribe or clan, no classes are laid under ban, no individuals are exempted. Therefore, Church of Christ, by the love you bear to your crucified Master, by His wounds and death for you, and by His living love to you, seek out the lost and gather together the outcasts. You fishers of men, launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a draught. You sowers of holy seed, go abroad, and sow the untrodden wastes. You consecrated builders, break away from old foundations, and lay fresh groundwork for a larger temple for your God and King. Surely the Spirit of love in a church will suggest this. Spurgeon Gold
