Charismatic Chaos by John MacArthur

I have posted this item as our home church has had some brothers and sisters in Christ experience and attend charismatic / pentecostal churches. By and large our Lord Jesus has brought out out from there and we find ourselves examining our beliefs and faith (2 Corinthians 13:5) concerning the doctrines that we have been sadly taught and indoctrinated with. I cannot speak for all, but there are some of us who are 'angry at ourselves' that we have been mislead and deceived. God is so overwhelmingly gracious in that He is healing us through repentance to Him.

Kindly take time to listen to the Charismatic Chaos teachings by John MacArthur who has biblically exposed the false teachings / doctrines under this very popular movement. If you have been in the charismatic / pentecostal movement - as I was (City Harvest Church in Pietermaritzburg) - or you know genuine believers who are sitting under the charismatic / pentecostal teachings; then in love refer the brethren to these teachings. Be as the Bereans - Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so (Acts 17:11).
___________________________

The charismatic movement, once considered a splinter group on the fringe of Christianity, has gained steam and entered the ‘90s at full speed. Dramatic new accounts of bizarre, supernatural events are attracting men and women hungry for religious experiences while causing others simply to ask, What is really happening here?, or more important, What should I believe?

This 12-message album thoughtfully and carefully shines the light of Scripture on teaching that is gaining a massive and loyal television following, leading to disunity on a world-wide scale, and promising to fuel controversy for years to come. Recorded by John MacArthur, these messages will help you gain an understanding of his bestseller Charismatic Chaos in a short amount of time.

Ten Shekels and a Shirt

The Bible Verse - Judges 17

Free Will Decision ~ It is a Myth 2 of 2

Were you born and conceived in sin? Were you spiritually dead? What happened to bring about the change? Was it a voluntary decision of your free will that you should bring yourself to spiritual life from spiritual death?

The Bible Verse - John 6:29

Don't Go For Free Will ~ It is a Myth 1 of 2

Think about the Old Testament Saints Adam, Able, Moses, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, David, Sampson and many more. Their free will did not save them and providentially provide for them. Neither does our supposed free will do that for us today. Without the intervention of God in our lives we would be lost.

The Bible Verse - Deuteronomy 32

Free Will -- A Slave

And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. ~ John 5:40

The Agony of Hell

Are you loving enough to share the Gospel? Are you lovingly confrontational in the preaching of the Kingdom of God as Jesus was during His earthly ministry? And are you letting Jesus do so still Today? Are the unbelievers going to deny the existance of God? And are 'luke warm' professing believers going to hold fast to a soft gospel? Today, while it is still Today, Repent and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is your only hope. We are, as the Apostle Paul said, "which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: 28 whom we preach warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus; 29 whereunto I also labor, striving according to His working, which worketh in me mightily" (Colossians 1:27b-29).
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish, foolishness: but unto us which are saved, it is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18)

The Unadulterated Gospel

This is just a morsel of biblical preaching; not the false doctrines and a soft gospel being preached by masquerading pastors and false teachers.

O Lord Jesus, Almighty God raise up true preachers of Your Word and annoint their tongues to proclaim Your Word in season and out of season. Amen.

Ten Marks of a Possible False Convert

This is a sermon that brother Tony Miano (The Lawman Chronicles) preached on Sunday February 22, 2009 -- Happy Birthday :) -- at Granada Hills Community Church. To read his sermon outline please view at this Link and to view his post sermon view Here. To listen to the audio message please connect to the link at the foot of this posting.

Ten Marks of a Possible False Convert:

1. You believe that you are inherently a good person, thus denying the doctrine of Original Sin.

2. You commit idolatry of the mind and blaspheme the very character of God by denying essential doctrines such as judgment, hell, regeneration, and justification by faith alone; and you replace the truth with lies such as sinless perfection and open theism.

3. You think that only the red-lettered words in your Bible are the words of Jesus and, therefore, the rest of the Bible can be interpreted and applied to your liking.

4. You believe that a person can be a Christian while wantonly engaging in habitual sin; such as homosexuality, fornication, adultery in mind or body, the support in any way whatsoever of the murder of the unborn, or any other sin.

5. You believe that because a person has prayed a prayer and asked Jesus into their heart, then they are saved.

6. You believe a person can be a Christian, even if they bear no fruit after making a profession of faith in Christ. You treat the grace of God as a license to sin. You like the word “backslider.”

7. You struggle with the thought of missing a meal; but going days, weeks, even months without reading your Bible doesn’t faze you.

8. You pray when you want something from God; but beyond that you have very little time for conversation with Him.

9. You believe that Darwinian, macro-evolution is a scientific fact and compatible with belief in the God of the Bible.

10. You see evangelism as a gift other people have; and you have no real concern about the fact that 150,000 people die every day, with the vast majority of them bound for hell. You soothe your conscience by convincing yourself that “friendship evangelism,” as it is most commonly practiced among American Christians, is actually in the Bible. You think that if you “let your little light shine,” you don’t have to verbally proclaim the gospel.
