MEDIA ADVISORY, May 18 /Christian Newswire/ -- In our pluralistic society, few people have to travel to a foreign mission field to find those of other faiths who speak another language. Neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces are filled with people of different religions who need to hear the gospel--but often can't, because they don't speak English. But a new app for iPods, iPhones, and iPads, called the GM28, now makes it possible for Christians to witness to them in their own native tongue, without having to learn the language.
Produced by Living Waters, the ministry of evangelist Ray Comfort, the app can be freely downloaded to an iPhone, iPod or iPad, and presents the gospel using an interactive questionnaire. According to Comfort, the app was birthed out of a frustration of not being able to witness to those who didn't speak English. "It's very simple to use, and it really works," Comfort said. "The first time I tried it, I shared the entire gospel with someone who didn't speak a lick of English, and he completely understood every word!" Currently available in 10 languages, Living Waters' goal is to have the gospel translated into 100 languages.
GM stands for "Gospel Mate" and the 28 is from Acts 2:8 ("And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?"). Whether trying to reach the lost in our own nation, or serving as a missionary overseas, anyone can now present the gospel in another language, and it is free and is as simple as pressing a button.
